Septic information is found under the “Departments” tab, “Environmental Health,” “Onsite Septic Permits.”  There are links on the right-hand side of the page for some excellent septic informational documents as well.  There are also some great links on the bottom of the page to explore: Maps, Property Search, etc.…

The Wahkiakum Chamber of Commerce site showcases local events and businesses.  They have a great staff and they are AWESOME!  Reach out and ask them about Wahkiakum.

The PUD provides both power and water to all homes/sites on Puget Island and power to the rest of the county.  They also manage other water systems in the county to ask to be sure what utilities the Wahkiakum PUD can offer your property.

The Town of Cathlamet provides sewer and water within city limits… this page also has a link to the Municipal Code, which includes building and planning information.  Their office hours vary, so make sure you check them before you go!

Our local newspaper… Read the Sheriff’s Report. Lol!  You can subscribe for weekly delivery for just $40 per year! (It’s only $35 if you live in Wahkiakum.) It’s easy to sign up through their website… just hit “Subscribe” on the bottom of the page.

This is the link to the interactive county property map.  Clicking a parcel brings up a box that shows the ID#, the owner and the legal acreage.  When you “Click Here for Tax Information” you will be taken to the county Assessor’s page for that particular parcel.  This page is a must read for a potential property!

On the right side of the screen there is a box for “layers” options. This will give you options of different types of county data to overlay on the aerial map… pretty neato!  This is a fun tool to use to explore property all around the county.

You can also look up Assessor information on the county webpage by clicking the “Property Search” icon on the bottom of the page.  It is easiest to use the address search function and type in ONLY the number and leave all other fields blank… hit “Search.”  Choose the correct property from the list.  There won’t be too many to choose from and it’s the best way to make sure you find a property.
